USDA is establishing a national voluntary livestock improvement program to safeguard and improve the health status of the U.S. swine herd. The U.S. Swine Health Improvement Plan began four years ago as a pilot project, monitoring certain farms for African Swine Fever and Classical Swine Fever. This program is being expanded, allowing hog farms to be certified for their health status. Public comments will be accepted through January 30.
