GOP to Seek One-Year Farm Bill Extension

In a closed-door meeting, House Republicans have agreed to pursue a one-year farm bill extension. At the same meeting, House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson rejected Senate Agriculture Committee Chair Debbie Stabenow’s farm bill text. Senate Agriculture Committee Ranking Member John Boozman made a similar comment, saying Congress is running out of time to approve a farm bill before the end of the year.
