According to Pioneer Strategic Account Manager Cole Ehrlin, the region finished September 200 GDUs above the 30-year average. The warm, dry weather allowed for rapid harvest progress. “Unfortunately, that also means the remaining soybeans in the field are all-sub ten (percent) moisture.” In the Pioneer Agronomy Update, Ehrlin encouraged growers to move right into corn once the soybeans are off. “We’re already seeing corn in the mid-to-high teens for moisture and with some of the wind we’ve seen recently, it’ll be key to prioritize any potential problem fields.” Listen to the update.
