The secretary-general of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Rebeca Grynspan, met with Russian officials to discuss “unimpeded access” to global markets for grain and fertilizer. Russian exports of food and fertilizer do not face Western sanctions, but there are restrictions on payments, insurance and logistics. This meeting is part of the UN effort to deal with global food insecurity concerns.
