Outside market influences will take a bigger role in the grain trade into December. On Tuesday, the grain and livestock markets were lower based on the uncertainty of the new COVID variant and what it means for the economy. “I think the markets legitimately fear certain political leaders are going to overreact with the omicron variant,” says Rich Feltes, head of market insights, RJ O’Brien. Until the stock markets get a handle on this new COVID variant, Feltes says the grain markets will be in a risk-off premium.
