As a finalist for the American Star Farmer award, Carson, North Dakota farmer Kurt Muggli will receive a cash award to help out on the farm. He currently farms 1,800 acres of wheat, corn, soybeans and sunflowers. “I grew up in a combine and tractor. Just being around the farm, that’s what drove me to continue to want to farm. At the end of the day, you can see what you did. Not many jobs allow you to see the rewards each day at the end of the day.” Now that convention has wrapped up, Muggli is back in North Dakota and will resume sunflower harvest.
