The warm, dry conditions will stick around the Northern Plains through Saturday. “Cooler air will come in Saturday and on Sunday, temperatures start to warm again,” said Drew Lerner, senior agricultural meteorologist, World Weather Incorporated. There may be patches soft frost along northeastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota over the weekend, but this shouldn’t be a big deal. Overall, there should be really good harvest conditions this year. “I think we’ll still have moisture deficits though. That will be a concern for wheat producers in the west. I think that will be the talk as we go through the next few weeks. It’s not going to be moist enough to support unirrigated wheat planting in areas.” Lerner will join the Red River Farm Network during the Big Iron Farm Show, Thursday, September 16 in West Fargo.
