In spite of the COVID pandemic, Kerns and Associates Economist Steve Meyer says U.S. pork demand is terrific. “When this thing started breaking in March, if you would have told me we would end the year with meat and poultry demand stronger than it was the year before, I would have told you that you were nuts. I thought the impact on the economy would drag us all down and it didn’t. People still had to eat.” Meyer says pork exports were even better. “China is a big number, but so is Mexico. That’s a terrific accomplishment.”
