Following the virtual annual meeting, the American Farm Bureau Federation board of directors has finalized the organization’s policy priorities. Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap, who was reelected to the AFBF board, says the policy book will cover key farm policy concerns. “Trade, taxes, transportation and all issues that will be at the table with us.” The cattle market took a hit with the beef plant fire at Holcomb, Kansas and the COVID pandemic. That was a focus for Farm Bureau delegates. “We looked at the spread between live cattle and boxed beef and we authorized an in-house study. The big thing is we need is price transparency.”
