Valley Crop Insurance owner Tyler Bjerke says the new Enhanced Coverage Option will be fully vetted with customers during the crop insurance season. “However, I don’t see it being much of an option in the Dakotas,” said Bjerke. “We’ve struggled as an industry to get more coverage per acre because of the price election. The prices have really rallied so we’re really hoping to see a lot bigger guarantees going into the spring based on the February price election.” Unlike the Supplemental Crop Option, ECO coverage is not affected by ARC participation for the same crop on the same acres.
