Finley Farmers Co-op Elevator Manager Todd Erickson says farmers are trying to finish up spring wheat harvest. “Wheat harvest is a little more than 80 percent complete and the wheat crop looks good, about 60 to 65 bushels per acre. The quality seems fine with decent falling numbers. There’s 14.8 to 14.9 protein on average.” Erickson is a little concerned with freeze damage on the soybeans. “We had a hard frost in this last week that may take out a few soybeans. The dry edible beans are pretty much ready to go. A few may have gotten nipped, but they were ready to go.”
