Looking ahead to the 2020 growing season, Helena product manager Jim Loken says farmers are facing waterlogged field conditions. That likely influenced the microbial condition of the soil. Loken is also recommending farmers develop a fertilizer strategy for these difficult conditions. “The lesson we learned last year was if you’re put every unit of N out front, you’re probably not getting a full return back to the crops.” Spoon-feeding the crop throughout the season and using nitrogen stabilizers are both advised. During Commodity Classic, Helena Agri-Enterprises has launched two new herbicides; Empyros for corn and Antares for soybeans.
