South Dakota’s difficult growing season can be seen in the October crop production report. State corn and soybean yields are projected to be down 22 and 39 percent respectively. South Dakota’s average corn yield is forecast at 154 bushels per acre, down six bushels from last year. The average soybean yield is down two bushels at a projected 43 bushels per acre.
