Recent rains are helping improve dry conditions in northern North Dakota. The U.S. Drought Monitor reduced the D2 severe drought area from eight to six counties this week. It also shows a reduction in the D1 moderate drought conditions. Only 12 counties are considered in moderate drought, compared to 14 one week ago. However, many counties in the northern part of North Dakota are still considered dry.
