The Federal Communications Commission plans to create a precision agriculture task force. The FCC will work with USDA to put together this 15-member task force. This group is expected to include farmers, internet providers, the electric cooperative industry, precision agriculture equipment manufacturers and government officials. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven says this task force is being created as part of the 2018 farm bill and will develop policy recommendations to promote broadband access to farm country.
