Soy Transportation Coalition Executive Director Mike Steenhoek says flooding on the nation’s inland waterways not only impact barge transportation to the ports, but it also movement of fertilizer products north. “April is typically the busiest month of the year for barge shipments heading north on the river system. I fully expect those shipments to be delayed as well.” Steenhoek says there really is no “Plan B” when it comes to moving agricultural products.
