Negotiations between the U.S. and Canada went down to the wire last night and today a trade agreement, which also includes Mexico, is in place. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland issued a joint statement, saying the new deal will be good for “workers, farmers, ranchers and businesses” resulting in “freer markets, fairer trade and robust economic growth.” President Trump tweeted this morning that this is “a historic transaction.” Trump will discuss the trade deal later this morning at a White House news conference.
