Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue told reporters Friday there’s still a plan to use the Commodity Credit Corporation funds to help farmers hurt by trade disputes. “It’s still too early to talk about the mechanisms or the quantification of that. We’ve got to see what impacts there are.” Perdue said the USDA will be calculating the impact of China’s tariffs on U.S. farmers this week. Perdue also told reporters he discussed the North American Free Trade Agreement with Canadian Minister of Agriculture Lawrence MacAulay.
